Eco-conscious transformation of a city apartment in Fulham, London W6
A once dark and soulless new-build apartment has been transformed into a warm and functional family home.
The brief was to create a calm, fluid space with added character for a book and art loving family. Bespoke bookshelves were introduced throughout, making their book collection a central part of the design. Much of the artwork displayed was created by the owners’ very talented daughter, adding a deeply personal layer to the interiors.
Sustainability informed the design approach. Existing elements were retained and thoughtfully upgraded where possible.
A neutral palette runs throughout the apartment, enriched with texture: lime-washed walls, marble worktops, ribbed timber, textured finishes and soft textiles. Organic forms in the furniture and detailing soften the home’s architectural lines, resulting in a balanced, calm and welcoming space.
