The designers that inspire me: Bouroullec brothers
French designers Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec have been shaping contemporary design with a unique blend of functionality, elegance, and playfulness. Known for their ability to merge art and practicality, the Bouroullec brothers have left an indelible mark on furniture, interiors, and product design worldwide.
I have personally admired their work for decades, and their designs continue to inspire me with their thoughtful simplicity, attention to materials, and ability to create objects that feel both sculptural and human.
Since the late 1990s, they have collaborated on projects that challenge the boundaries between architecture, craft, and industrial design. Their work is characterised by fluid forms, modular systems, and meticulous attention to detail.

The Bouroullecs’ designs are not only visually striking but also deeply thoughtful. They explore how people interact with objects and spaces, emphasizing comfort, flexibility, and adaptability. Their approach often blurs the line between furniture and architecture, turning everyday objects into functional sculptures.
By combining minimalist lines with inventive forms, their work remains timeless and continues to influence both modern interiors and a generation of designers. For me, incorporating their pieces into a project is always a joy — a way to bring art, comfort, and sophistication into a space.
Their design philosophy deeply resonates with me : the art of combining beauty, utility and creativity.
